MessageGentleman,

Although just a movement in civil society, we oppose this measure for the sake of human deceny. Prisoners should be able to work for a small wage if they want to. This not only will help them to recover, but would allow them to send money to their families.

MessageOur aim is not to harm their ability to support their families, but rather to end the pattern of exploitation in the prisons. Our strong social safety net and tax exemption for low-income families should mean that financial support is not a pressing need.

MessageGentleman,

Let us remember, the current law states that prisoners may work voluntarily. Thus, they have the choice whether to work or not. A choice is better than no choice at all.
