Bill: Abolition of the 'Right to Chose' Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Baltusian International Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 4193
Description[?]:
Mr Speaker, We are diametrically opposed to the decision by the left to allow for the termination of a life. We believe that all life should be valued, and that allowing people the right to murder innocent babies is completely unacceptable. How can we trust the people who supported this bill in the first place to make key decisions about the right to life when they can't even use correct spelling and grammar in the title of their bill? Zara Rose Leader of the Republican Party of Baltusia |

Message | We would also ask that before parties vote- they argue for why they have voted that way. We cannot have real discussion about key issues if parties are going to blindly vote and not debate. Thank you. Zara Rose |

Message | We say to the Minority Speaker of the House that this matter hasn't been settled. We were told by the moderates and the foundation party 'thank you for allowing women to choose' and 'we are proud to vote for this'. Miss Wiley, if this is your idea of settling a matter and real debate, then you're in the wrong job. Let's have some real debate and ensure that the people that voted this Congress in can have their voices heard! Zara Rose |

Message | I would ask the RAC this, if they aren't babies and are cells, then what would happen to them if nature took its course and what would they be in 9 months time? A dog? Zara Rose |

Message | If the Republicans really wanted to debate this issue, they would not have immediately moved the bill to a vote. They want to score political points and ignore the cause of women's rights. Kathleen Wiley Minority Speaker of the House |

Message | Typical of the nationalists. Flip flopping. We aren't scoring points in the slightest- we are protecting the basic human right- the right to life. First the nationalists wanted to punish communists, now they want to stand with the left. They were pro-life, now they are pro-abortion. You thought you were getting a pro life, extreme nationalist party to start with, now you get pro abortioners who want to stand with the left. I think it's clear, vote for the Nationalists, vote for unprincipled flip-floppers. Zara Rose |

Message | We were never pro-life. I ask you to find a statement in which we claimed to be so. We voted against the original bill because, after discussion within our party, we determined that the change in legislation was not necessary. However, we lost that vote and we do not feel that it benefits anybody to have an immediate change of course. While the Republicans continue to attempt to score political points with attacks against our party and its principles, we are focused on the actual issues that matter: healthcare, education, justice and so on. On these matters, the Republicans have sold out the Baltusian people to corporations. Kathleen Wiley Minority Speaker of the House |
Date | 23:44:39, April 09, 2017 CET | From | Baltusian Democratic Green Party (BDGP) | To | Debating the Abolition of the 'Right to Chose' Bill |
Message | Whilst we wouldn't support a lot of the rhetoric the Nationals are using, the BDGP for once actually agrees with their stand against this bill. The Republicans are only supporting a change back to the previous law to score political points; they're not representing the interests of the many women who are affected by this. Who should be given rights: the cell that hasn't yet fully developed into a person, or the living, breathing, human woman? And on behalf of the whole of my left colleagues, might I add that the history of the National Party guarantees they will never 'stand with the left' or the Greens, because they've proven to be radicals with no clear view for our great country time after time! Vice President Valentine Perkins BDGP Chairwoman and Home Secretary |
Date | 15:03:37, April 10, 2017 CET | From | Baltusian International Democratic Party | To | Debating the Abolition of the 'Right to Chose' Bill |
Message | We oppose what the Vice President says about us 'scoring political points'. The only people that were playing games and scoring points are the left- who knew that our congressional absence would mean that they could pass a bill which endangers human life. Thank you. Message | Is it any wonder the Republicans are universally despised when they continue to divide individuals into the categories 'left' and 'right'? Though we disagree with the BDGP on a large number of issues (far more than the number upon which we agree), they deserve credit for their commitment to working with other parties- like the Patriots. On the other hand, the Republicans loathe anybody who doesn't shove the penis of big business down their own throat. Kathleen Wiley Minority Speaker of the House |
