MessageThe title of this bill is misleading - it suggests it is about educational improvement yet the bill is actually about sending children to work, cutting the length of time they are educated for and effectively allowing private schools to teach whatever nonsense they want. This doublespeak from the Apocalypse Party is extremely worrying.

MessageFirst of all we are considering dropping the 2nd article that would lower the education age and second of all, the current laws actually give schools more opportunities to teach nonsense.

MessageWhy has the legalisation of child labour and exploitation been linked with education?

MessageOOC: From the International Labour Organization:

"The term “child labour” is often defined as work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential and their dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development.

It refers to work that:

is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful to children; and
interferes with their schooling by:
depriving them of the opportunity to attend school;
obliging them to leave school prematurely; or
requiring them to attempt to combine school attendance with excessively long and heavy work."

As a result, I think it is best to assume that "child labour" means child exploitation, not their ability to work at McDonalds on Saturday and Sunday afternoons or to babysit a neihgbour's child.

    Random fact: When elections in a country are held, all bills in the voting phase are reset to the debate phase.

    Random quote: "A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson
