| Message | According to numerous sources close to the situation, KPH Leader Edgar Strausser had to be "physically restrained" on seeing this bill. He believed that Premier Lebedev in moving the bill had engaged in "a betrayal of KPH values" through increasing spending, and was reported to have remarked that the health and social services department should have been closed down to keep the budget "revenue-neutral." A spokesman for Premier Lebedev said that there had been "robust discussion" but that the KPH Senate delegation "stood behind the bill that had been presented to the Senate." |

| Message | We applaud the KPH for not cutting the health or social services budget. Any budget proposal that slashes social services and health services would have been a non-starter for the PPH. The PPH senators hope that both of the moderates in our parties can contain the extremist in both our parties. |
