MessageMr. Speaker,

As president Scott declared, we in the SDA believe that this coalition best reflects the wishes of the Dranland population. The GNP has lost dramatically, and the racist-extremist PAP can’t be trusted after the tenure of their last president. The Conservatives and the SDA are the biggest democratic winners of the election, and Labour makes this coalition a majority.

We would ask the other parties to support this coalition for the coming years to further strengthen the democracy, the welfare and the economy of Free Dranland.

With regards,

SDA Party Chairman

MessageMr Speaker,

the GNP will not support this coalition. We acknowledge that we have to mandate to claim a part in the government that is going to lead Dranland throughout the upcoming tenure, but an inclusion of the NCP is a worrisome signal. The party might have moderated and its recent contributions to the peace process are commendable, but it retains a significant Kyo nationalist wing whose influence should not be underestimated. The SDA may be right in shunning the PAP, but if it does so due to that party's supposed "racist-extremist" nature, then it must explain why the NCP should be a more suitable partner when subjected to that standard.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The GNP is partly right. In the past we have had issues with the Conservatives. However, there stance has moderated significantly. They also voted with many Bills of the previous coalition, against some of which the GNP campaigned. We feel that in the new power-balance the NCP deserves the chance to prove what they have been telling for years: that they have changed.

MessageMr Speaker,

the bills named by the SDA that were supported by the NCP were of economic nature, whereas the problematic aspects of the NCP's agenda are related to their negative outlook on multiculturalism and their ambivalent stance towards democratic governance. We do not see how these votes can be interpreted as an indication of the NCP having moderated its political profile to a sufficient extent. We nevertheless wish the President as well as our former coalition partners well and hope that they will not wake up to find themselves in shock over being wedded to unreconstructed Kyo nationalists once the honeymoon is over.
