Bill: Drug Reform of 4198

Details

Submitted by[?]: Progressive Partia of Hobrazia

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 4202

Description[?]:

The PPH believes that individuals with substance use disorders disproportionately tax the resources of our law enforcement officers. We believe funding should focus on prevention of using substances and treatment, not on incarceration. Furthermore the PPH believes that citizens should have a right to body autonomy and this includes substances that they use.

MessageRemoving the stigma attached to drugs reduces barriers to those who are seeking treatment. There are several evidence based prevention programs that seem promising. The PPH fully believes with drugs decriminalized and the attention being focused on treatment and prevention we will see drops in the rates of use. Those who continue to use will do so in a safer manner and prolong their lives.
