Message | Lorenzo Verhoeven, President of the Republic: "Hon. MPs of the PAI, I came here into the Parliament to face the continue accusation that the opposition is throwing against my person. First of all, of course it is clear that the failurs to form a Government in the last months depends only by the internal problems that the PPI are experiencing in this time. Then, as said before and after the elections, I clearly stated that this term would be oriented to overcome the national emergency and it is for this reason that me and my party want support this your bill. For the rest, I think that I absolutely have nothing to apologize to the Istalians! I led this Nation during one of the darkest periods of its history, during one of the most danger periods of its history. Since the official formation of the FD opposition, despite the continue attack against my person and my policies to conduct the nation, I never answered to you or never criticized you to do it, but it is time to say stop! Probably I will made a sin of pride, but today the Nation is safe, today our citizens can again go out without fear, today the terrorist menace is totally defeat, today the Nation is not anymore in State of Emergency and I give back the special powers when I constated that we didn't need anymore this, rather, I would say that I have responded to a clear and strong request from our citizens which were able to demonstrate! And who allowed the opposition to establish a quasi-permanent sit at the feet of the Presidential Palace? The policies which personally decided to present to the Parliament after the end of the State of Emergency were clearly oriented to the normalization and to give back to our citizens its rights and freedoms! For all these reasons I have nothing to apologize, all what I have done was for the good of the Country and of the citizens and I think that the results are clear and visible! Thank you" |

Random fact: Don't vote yes on a cabinet coalition that doesn't give you the power that you deserve. |
Random quote: First and second class seats on public transport shall be BANNED! We are all FIRST CLASS people, regardless of whether we are rich or poor and can afford or not afford to pay for a more expensive seat. From now on, all seats on trains, buses, trams, planes and so on shall be the SAME. We will all travel in the SAME way, TOGETHER. ~ Friedrich Pfeiffer General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party |
