Bill: Merchant Marine Act of 4202
Details
Submitted by[?]: Whig Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 4202
Description[?]:
In a recent poll the people of the Commonwealth have spoken and a large percentage would like to see the military disbanded and their duties subcontracted. It is the belief of the Whig Party that our Navy could become greater than ever before through the creation of a merchant marine force. The inland branches of security would easily be able to be subcontracted to security firms. Subsection 1.1 The duties of the Rutanian Navy shall be subcontracted to private firms who can most effectively execute the needs of the Commonwealth. Subsection 1.2 The duties of the Army shall be subcontracted to private firms that can most effectively execute the needs of the Commonwealth. Subsection 1.3 The Commonwealth shall retain a national Air Force & Special Forces Units. The Commonwealth shall also continue to maintain a nationally controlled Nuclear Weapons Command. |

Random quote: "Ask the experimenters why they experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are like us." Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are not like us." Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction." - Charles R.
