Message*sarcasm on* But VBS, if you let local governments take control, they may subsidize fireworks - how dare you favour subsidies! *sarcasm off*

MessageIt says "fireworks laws". THat can include manufacture, it could include subsidizing the price, or the industry as a whole.

MessageI didn't know Selucia had a firework company - Nobody ever mentionned it, so I assume we had none and therefor couldn't subside them-

Message*Besides, if the alternative only mentions the SALE of fireworks, I guess the original law only conciders the SALE of fireworks, pretty clear, isn't it?

Message"Local governments determine fireworks laws" is very broad - it could mean subsidies, it could mean regulation, heck, it could mean nationalizatino of a fireworks company. By allowing local governments to control the trade, you open the door wide open to subsidies.

MessageProblem: what if we don't change this law? How do we know who decides the subsides, trade etc. of firework companies?

I think every smart party will support me when I say this just means who can purchase fireworks

Your reply: do you have any proof of that?

My reply: NO, I haven't, but do you have any proof you will NOT change in a purple sea-lion tomorow? Yet, we can assume that we HAVE that proof, without assuming we know that, life becomes nearly impossible (used an example of my course filosophy)

MessageWhat I'm saying is your a hyporcrite. On this bill, you conveniently assume that local governments won't susidize or nationalize the fireworks industry. On another bill involving agriculture, you conveniently assume that local governments WILL subsidize agricultural industry.

FOr all you know, the opposite will happen, and fireworks will be subsidized in Uleroth, while agriculture will not be subsidized anywhere under the local government option.

I'm merely pointing out the lack of consistency in your views (which, truth be told, is like taking candy from a baby).

MessageI just have proven this has NOTHING to do with subsiding fireworks, don't you EVER get the point?

A bill concerning agriculture subsides has EVERYTHING to do with subsiding, so it's something completely different

MessageNo - you have not. You are making assumptions you are not entitled to make. The current option is "local governmetns determine fireworks laws" - that includes subsidies, regulations, nationalization, etc.

By favouring the local option, you favour the rights of provinces to subsidize or nationalize the entire industry.

Messagea) There are choices on the bill -> we (Selucian Imperial Senate) have to decide what happens (local governements decide about THE SALE OF FIREWORKS is private, "it" is national etc)

b)IF we don't pick the local option, we don't know anything about subsides

-> (a & b) -> We can assume the law only talks about the SALE of fireworks

I think this is all for the debate, I explained my point as good as I can, if the ssp doesn't (want to) understand it, I can't do anything about it

MessageYou can't assume anything, as the local government option is exceptionally broad. If the local option was restricted to "the local government regulates the SALE of fireworks", then you would have a point. However, the local option speaks of LAWS, meaning all laws surrounding fireworks.
