| We are concerned by the way the Internal Security Directorate has been operating, particularly with regards to the targeting of innocent family members of TLA (Trigunian Liberation Army) members. In times as difficult as this, the legitimate law authorities are entitled and indeed obligated to use force in order to uphold the rule of law. However, they must behave with justice and with discretion. If this situation continues, the legitimate government will lose its moral authority in the eyes of ordinary Trigunians, and also in the eyes of the rest of the world. In order to restore proper control, I propose the immediate sacking of Ignatiy Masmekhov as Governor-General of the Internal Security Directorate, and the setting up of an all-party parliamentary committee to provide scrutiny and oversight of the organisation.
