Message | We agree with II, but not with I. |
Date | 21:07:01, February 13, 2006 CET | From | Northern Lights | To | Debating the Military Reform 2185 |
Message | In the 22nd century it's not mass military of accountants, opera singers and plumbers we need, but well educated professionals able to use sophisticated weapon-systems. Keeping up training facilities, equipment for mass military is a waste of valuable government funds, not even to mention the valuable time we take from citizens paying them to stay away from their jobs. An economic and strategic nonsense! |
Date | 21:45:59, February 13, 2006 CET | From | Libertarian Party | To | Debating the Military Reform 2185 |
Message | Against! In times of war, we must have the ability to call those who are being defended to assist in that defence. This is one of the very few times a Libertarian will force a person to do something potentially against their will. Depending on the forecast of how long the call up is going to last we can focus the draftees on areas that require less training. Logistic support at home to allow the proffesionals to go forward is but one area they can be usefully employed. |

Message | For the time being removed Article 1 about deleting National service, but should the political environment change we will return to the issue again. |

Random fact: Don't vote yes on a cabinet coalition that doesn't give you the power that you deserve. |
