Message | Mr Foreign Secretary, The armed forces of Baltusia stand ready, as ever. While this matter is being resolved I suggest our naval forces step up patrols to ensure there is no breach of our waters and to keep our sea lanes open. Geoffrey Palmerston Defence Secretary |

Message | Mr Burgmuller, I am sick and tired of these petty threats from Aldegar. They target our country at every opportunity and it all goes back to our victory in not accepting their Shah as our head of state. We implore you and the president to take a very firm hand this time and stop this kind of action once and for all. Pascal Kindler Home Secretary |

Message | Mr Home Secretary, Baltusia is investigating numerous lines of investigation as to this incident. What kind of 'action' do you propose? Graham Burgmuller Foreign Secretary |

Message | Mr Foreign Secretary, Whilst we must obviously increase patrols, we must also be careful to avoid entering any sort of a conflict with Aldegar. The formal investigation must proceed as swiftly as possible and we should decide what to do as a congress after its findings are revealed. Until such a time increased naval and aerial patrols around our borders are all we should be doing. Message | Further note, 3 Aldegarian battleships are on the Baltusian sea lane border now. That is 3 Aldegarian battleships on the Baltusian sea lane border. This is highly concerning. We ask the defence secretary to immediately respond to this and urge that DIPLOMACY must be the key before jumping to military reaction. President Ruby DeGraz |

Message | Mr Foreign Secretary, As has already been said in this discussion, Aldegar has time and time again attempted to subjugate Baltusia to petty threats and aggressive actions, all because the people of this country democratically chose to keep our presidential system of government. Everyone in this chamber agrees, I'm sure, that we as a nation must never be forced into any unwanted actions, but neither should we lead ourselves into war. I agree with the President's statement that diplomacy must be the key, and we should use all diplomatic measures in our power, particularly through galvanising the international community into not just standing in the way of Aldegar's aggressive antics, but also into creating a formal, permanent alliance with us, so we may stand in the way of any future threats. Might I also ask the Defence Secretary whether the military are being deployed to specific locations or there's been an increase in those stationed? And could the Home Secretary also say if any significant changes to both sea and land borders have been made? BDGP Chairman Damien Herbert |

Message | As the Republicans have pointed out previously, past policies have left the country with a massive surplus, and the passage of the Partial Public Transportation Subsidisation Act 4209 means there is some money that can be diverted from Transport. In the upcoming budget, alongside other changes to the finances, there will be an increase in the Defence Budget of $5,000,000,000 BLD. This will ensure the military keeps up-to-date and is able to serve and defend this country properly, which is clearly necessary in these dangerous times. Harriett Miller Finance Secretary |

Message | Mr Herbert, All necessary defensive measures are in place to withstand an attack by air, sea or land. We note as we have in the past that Aldegar has a roughly equal sized military to ourselves (ooc both average on the RP rankings we agree to). Given that any attack particularly an invasion requires a much bigger force compared to the defender, Aldegar would be very foolish to go on the offensive. Given we also have Istalian allies based in Athosia the odds are even more stacked in our favour. So our defence is sound. The Home Secretary informs me that counter intelligence operatives are working with our border troops to ensure that vigilance is at its highest in these areas to prevent spies, terrorists and the like. Geoffrey Palmerston Defence Secretary |
