MessageWe understand there is a need for an early election, however we would rather it be later on in the year after the current bills that have been tabled are voted on.

MessagePaula Brahms, Prime Minister:

Mr Reece, you have publicly shamed this government and it is clear you have no confidence in the ability of myself, the President, or our party to lead this nation.

By voting no you give an indication that you in fact do support this administration and would have it continue. Which is it Mr Reece? You cannot have things both ways. A government operating under a Cabinet only half-full cannot function effectively. The sooner we get early election out of the way, the sooner we can validate or invalidate the people's view of our leadership, implement a new cabinet and continue with the business of governing this nation.

This early election proposal is not one of convenience it is a matter of necessity to restore faith in our public institutions and restore the effective functioning of our executive branch.

MessagePaula Brahms, Prime Minister:

We are now in a position where the AIP, NF, and PLP do not wish to sit in our cabinet. The PPP have abstained from voting on any legislation for 2 years now. That leaves the ANC with whom we hold too different a world view. In any event we are unable to propose a cabinet coalition that would be passed. It is thus an immediate requirement that this Senate be dissolved and a new Senate be elected. Hopefully one that allows a party, any party, to negotiate a coalition.

The people deserve the right to reward or punish the parties of this Seate for their actions this current term.

MessageMargaret Gedrych:

"We agree with Prime-Minister Brahms's statements. This augustus institution has to do what's best for the citizens of Aloria. Prolonging such a critical situation of having an incapacitated government would have dire effects on everyone. This house has today gave a "no confidence" vote in the current government, and it all remains to see what the people will choose in the elections to come."

MessageWe made our arguments against this bill and we stick by them, however this bill is going to pass so I hope this will end the dire situation this government is in.
