Bill: Representation of the People Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Al-Ittihad al-Ishtiraki ad-Dimuqrati
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 4210
Description[?]:
OOC: This act will also establish a separate upper house, that we can roleplay, named the Senate (Majlis al-Shuyukh). It will have 81 members, with 40 renewed at every ordinary general election (the 81st will be whoever is the Vice-President), making for a staggered system. The seats will be awarded to each party with the D'Hondt method, and be based on popular vote results of the lower house elections. A similar system is used in the Istalian Republic here in the game, and it has made for good roleplay. I can take care of the calculations if you want, and keep track of results over time. |

Random fact: It is possible for a player to transfer ownership of a character or a royal house to another player. This should be done in a public way, such as on the Character Transfers thread, so that if a dispute arises in the future, Moderation can be pointed towards evidence of the transfer. |
