Bill: Media Integrity Law 4212

Details

Submitted by[?]: Patriotic Party of Baltusia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4212

Description[?]:

Members of Congress,

Recent news reports regarding a letter sent to me in private, in a blunt attempt to drive a rift between Centrist Alliance partners, are unacceptable.

They were aired on the unashamedly left-leaning Baltusian Public Broadcasting Corporation (BPBC) - which is a hotbed for inaccurate citizen journalism.

So far we have accepted the amateur nature of the reporting; however, this was something different - it was a subversive anti-government attack which should not be tolerated.

Now, our party is the biggest proponent for freedom of expression and speech - unlike the Left Bloc who are currently trying to forbid people from attending religious schools in a direct attack on their rights - but this pro-communist news agency has gone too far, in our opinion.

To ensure integrity of reporting in the run up to the next election, we therefore propose a change in the law which will stop this kind of rubbish being published.

IC this is disgusting you attempt to blame the media for your failing Party and you talk about us stopping freedom of speech this letter clearly shows the unstable nature of the Patriotic Party, you are not a centrist Party who supports cooperation and loyalty

MessageClearly the RAC Party has a major investment in any false news that destabilises the government. If we find any evidence that your party had a role to play in the Letter-gate leak, we will take legal action.

MessageIt should be the right of any individual or organisation to criticize the Government and it is already illegal to publish false information. Thus all this bill could do would be to silence opposition.

MessageMadame Carter,

I will certainly not be preached to about civil rights from a woman who wants to ban religious freedom in our country.

This reporting is dangerous and subversive - the Patriotic Party only acts in the best interest of stabilising the country at a time when war threatens and economic problems are rife.

MessageMadame Flanders,

By banning religious schools we are merely attempting to protect the civil rights of the children to be educated in an impartial way.
