MessageThe Demokratische Allianz wish to initiate a discussion on the merits of constitutional reform. We want to make absolutely clear that our intention is not necessarily to change our founding and governing document, but rather to review the merits of its articles in light of the many changes that have occurred domestically and abroad since the inception of the Constitution.

Specifically we want to debate the merits of changes to term length, the number of seats in the Senate, and the number of proposals a political party generates per annum and can accumulate in total. We invite feedback from all parties regarding these or any other matters pertaining to the Constitution.

MessageWe think the term length should be extended to four years to allow for more effective government. Too much time is spent preparing for elections than getting one with implementing policy.

MessageOn the other side, I think that we can observe the positive benefits a shorter term period has on the overall civil situation of the country: shorter periods of time for a legislative term engages the people a lot more in the political process, as proved by the high turnout numbers we have in elections.

Random quote: "Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time." - Winston Churchill
