Bill: National Animal Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: AM RIP Tetragrammaton
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2187
Description[?]:
While the peoples of our nation may see the otter as a noble and humble creature, that feeling is not universal. Many see it as lazy, slow, dim, and dull. We should choose a new national animal that all Likatonians can be proud of. That's why we are choosing the snow owl. The snow owl is an amazing, unique, and wise creature. The nobility it presents will inspire pride in all of our citizens. |

Message | Well, the AM AAP has a long history of despising the Otter as a national animal... but we are not entirely convinced that an owl is much of a step up. (Of course, we argue it would be hard to step down....) |

Message | Hmn... the... Water Rat? And the national chant can be: 'here it comes, fat-fat the water rat!' - NOW that is a slogan! |
Date | 01:06:29, February 15, 2006 CET | From | Likaton Fascist Front | To | Debating the National Animal Act |
Message | Despite previous legislation alluding to boiling, deep frying the otter etc the PSS is not particularly adverse to the otter as our national animal, although if there are indications of that the majority of members of the Convocation want change, we wont oppose it. |

Message | AM AAP is still taking this issue under advisement. We are not keen on the transition from Otter to Snow Owl, but we are not keen on Otter... for the moment, we oppose... although we would likely support if a 'better' (to our tastes) candidate animal is offered. |
