Details

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 4222

Description[?]:

Aldegar is based on an alternative Iran in which the influence of Hosianism is greatly reduced. Similarly, Turkic and Syrian aspects of the Iranian culture are far less prominent. Consequently, Aldegar can be accurately compared to Persia and Arabia.

Throughout this document, brackets are used to show the real-life equivalent of a people, language or religion.

BRIEF PRE-GAME HISTORY

The Ezadi (Iranian) people, who form the majority of the Aldegarian population today, are believed to have been the some of the first human inhabitants of central Seleya. In addition, they were the founders of Yazdism (Zoroastrianism) which continues to dominate in modern Aldegar. The Ezadi presided over vast empire on the continent at one time but Aldegar experienced foreign rule too. In particular, the Mu-Tze Khanate (Mongol Empire) controlled the area for half a millennium between 263 and 719 CE. During this period, many Mu-Tze natives emigrated to the region and even today, they remain a significant percentage of the population.

Later, Hosianism (Christianity) arrived in the region from Al’Badara; it is still the largest minority religion. Aldegar was ruled predominantly as a ‘Shahdom’, i.e. a monarchy headed by a Shah. The First Republic was established in 2042 and since then, Aldegar has alternated between monarchy and republicanism.

The largest ethnic group in Aldegar is the Ezadi (Iranian) people. Formed primarily of the Aldegarian group and some other related peoples, they are the indigenous inhabitants of the region.

The Majatran (Arab) and Cildanian (Assyria/Syriac) people both arrived, primarily, with the introduction of Ahadism (Islam) in the Middle Ages. They are most commonly found in western Aldegar but have largely assimilated within the Hosian Aldgerian community. Nonetheless, some retain their language and culture.
Other ethnic groups, like the Ikpi (Aboriginal Australian), Caldorian (Scottish) and Gao-Showa people, are more recently arrivals from neighbouring or friendly nations.

The most common religion in Aldegar is Ahmadism (Islam), founded in 1186 by the prophet Ahmad. The central Ahmadi belief is pure and uncompromising monotheism, believing Akim to be the sole, eternal, and absolute creator and ruler of the Universe. Monotheism is Ahmadism's central article of faith; God is seen as a unique, independent and indivisible being, who is independent of the entire creation. Ahmadis reject the Hosian worship of Eliyahu as the Spirit of God, which they liken to polytheism. God's uniqueness is emphasized in the Ahmadi creed, which goes as follows: "There is no god but Akim, Ahmad is the apostle (messenger, prophet) of God

MessageWe will not approve of this bill for reasons that you replaced Yazdism with Ahmadism as the primary religion of Aldegar.

Although I do approve changes to the religious demographic, I would like to note that since my governments have implemented proposal banning non-Yazdist religions, I would have you note that Buddhism has also declined.
