| "I mus admit this comes as a shock to me, i'd originaly intended to vote for Simon Akers untill i recived a call from him where he told me he planned to remain as Deputy Leader and wanted me to run for leader of my great Party, i would like to thank all those who have elected me and i promise to serve this great party and nation to the best of my ability." A statement released by Eric Brent, Mr Brent, the former Minister for Health and Social Services won the Leadership contest against Tony Smith, Mr Brent recieved 754,578 votes while Mr Smith recieved 549,325 votes, Mr Brent, who is 33 years of age is refered to by many as one of the rising stars of the politicial scene and the protoge of the late Brian Proctor, only time will tell wether he will be a success or not.
