Bill: Proposal to rename the Legislative body

Details

Submitted by[?]: Alleanza Radicale - NCD

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4230

Description[?]:

Given the fact that our Republic provides a Parliament with two Chamber (Chamber of Deputies and Senate (OOC: this last one in RP)), I would like propose you to rename the legislative body of the nation:

"Parliament of Istalia" or "Parliament of the Istalian Republic" (I prefer the second one).

Because I think it is not fair to call it "Chamber of Deputies" if we have also an Upper Chamber.

And furthermore, we could also rename it in this way:

"Parliament of the Istalian Republic: Senate of the Republic and Chamber of Deputies"

For most part of its history the istalian legislative body was known as "Parliament of Istalia", so, why not to link us to the past and to the fathers and founders of the Nation?

"We think that a better name would be Casa dei rappresentanti. The members are the representatives of the people, but we'll propose that in our program."

MessageDonatella Pioppi:

"We disagree, because we consider the term "Deputato" (Deputy) as part of our culture and tradition, a title rarely used in other nations and which however his equivalent to the term "Rappresentate", if not better, because, deriving from the Selucian verb "deputare", formed by "de" (of, from) and "putare" - consider, choose, Deputy means sepcifically "the one who has been chosen", perfect to express how the members of Parliament are individuals chosen by the people to represent them and to etrust them of a mandate to represemt them."

OOC: the english term "House" in effect, is used to indicate both the House as residence (Casa) and the branch of the legislative.
But in italian the term "House of Representatives", shall be translate as "Camera dei Rappresentanti", given the fact that in italian the term "House" as branch of a parliament is always translated as "Camera" (Chamber).
And in italian the term "Deputato" (Deputy) can be easily translated as "Representative" or also "Congressman", because a Deputy is someone chosen to represent of someone.
Furthermore, the term "Deputato" is more suitable for the culture which istalia represent, that is the italian culture and so a neoroman culture/language, which used the term to indicate the members of the lower house of other national parliaments.

MessageOOC: Since we only RP the Camera dei Deputati, I believe it'd be best to retain the current name.
