IT WILL BE UPDATED AGAIN WITH EDUCATION BUDGET REFORM

Age of initiation of compulsory education - 6 years of age.
* voluntary age - 5 years of age (at the discretion of parents or legal guardian)

This reform reaffirms that under the current law homescholling is illegal on the whole territory of the Federal Republic of Dorvik under the current penal code.

Compulsory Education Period - age 5/6 - 18 (*17 for those who start at the age of 5) (12/13 years)

Structure of the Dorvish School System (Schulsystem des Bundesrepublik Dorvik):

PRIMARY EDUCATION:
- Obligatory Last Class of Kindergarten - children aged 5 (* exempt if parents or L.G. decide to send child to Elementary School at the age of 5)
- a(1) - Elementary School (Grundschule) - children aged 6 (* 5 if parents express their will to send their children to Elementary School at this age) - 4 classes (age 6/5 -9/10).
- a(2) - Federal School (Bundesschule) - children aged 6 (without exception) - 4 classes (age 6-10).

After 4 years of primary educations pupils's parents are adivsed on the future path of the education.
Schools may issue recomanedations and dispositions to secondary schools on the abilities of the students.

SECONDARY EDUCATION:
- b(1) - Common School (Allgemeinschule) - children aged 10 (* 9 if education started at the age of 5) - 4 classes (age 9/10 - 13/14).
- b(2) - Preparatory School (Vorbereitungsschule) - children aged 10 (* 9 if education started at the age of 5) - 5 classes (age 9/10 - 14/15).
- b(3) - Main School (Hauptschule) - children aged 10 (without exception) - 6 classes (age 10 - 16).
- b(4) - Profession School (Berufschule) - children age 10 (without exception) - 8 classes (age 10 - 18).

Students after finishing secondary education options b(1), b(2), b(3) are entitled to apply for tertiary education facilities after passing Secondary Education Assesment Exam (Sekundarausbildung Wirkungsprüfung - SW). Students who decided to join Profession Scholl [b(4)] finish their 8-years of education with Profession Exam (Berufsprüfung - BP) and are entitled to apply for Technical Universities in the Federal Republic of Dorvik and after nostrification in foreign countries.

TERTIARY EDUCATION:
- c(1) - High School (Oberschule) - children aged 14 (* or 13 if education started at the age of 5) - 4 classes (age 13/14 - 17/18).
- c(2) - Technical School (Technical Fachschule) - children aged 14 (without exception) - 4 classes (age 14 - 18).

*Students who finish education option c(1) must obtain School-leaving Examination Certificate (Entlassungszeugnis - ESZ) in order to apply to Universities in the Federal Republic of Dorvik. The ESZ IS internationally recognized certificate and does not require nostrification before applying to foreign Universities.
*Students who finish education option c(2) must obtain Technical Education Assesment Certification (Technische Bildungsprüfung - BP) in order to apply to Universities in the Federal Republic of Dorvik. The BP is NOT internationally recognized certificate and requires nostrification before applying to foreign Universities.
