Dorvish Alliance for Freedom
Dorvische Allianz für Freiheit

Known as
Sozialliberalen '47
From 3957 to 4000

Known as
Pragmatische Zentrumpartei von Dorvik
From 3847 to 3957

Ideology: Cosmopolitanism/Social Liberalism / Dorvikian Patriotism/ Fortuynism
OOC: This party is based on the former Dutch party LPF and D66.

The DAF is a progressive party that is positioned on the centre-right of the political spectrum. The party was called " Die Pragmatische Zentrumpartei von Dorvik " until it's namechange to Sozialliberalen '47 in 3857. After a long time of political instability, the party was ressurected in 4201 as the DAF.

The party was founded in 3847 by the former CEO of Dorvik's biggest newspaper, die Dorvische Zeit , Patrick Urquhart after he was disgruntled by the actions of the government, which was under control of the Dorvische Konservative Partei at that time. Urquhart, who had been caught having a homosexual extramarital affair , was focused on fighting for the rights of women, minorities and homosexuals during his leadership of the PZPvD, which got him 106 of the 495 Staatsrat seats in his first election in 3851.

The party stagnated in the last years of Patrick Urquhart's leadership and the party's poll ratings hit an all-time low when Patrick died of natural causes in 3861. Arthur Urquhart, Patrick's son and a human rights advocate , managed to win the leadership race but didn't manage to revive the party in his 5 year term as leader. Arthur resigned after his party sacked him at 3865 Party conference. One of the major decisions taken by Arthur was starting an alliance with the Soziale Nationalistische Partei, which hasn't ended since.

Arthur's Succesor was Richard Unterlings, a political heavy-weight and former minister of Internal Affairs during the first SNP-PZPvD cabinets. Unterlings was an intellectual and was a professor at the Universität von Haldor before he joined the PZPvD as one if it's founding members. Unterlings achieved initial successes with his sharp critisism of Dorvik's agressive Militarist principles and his fights with the leadership of the Liberale Zukunftspartei, a Anarcho-Liberal party that existed in the last few decades of the 39th century. He managed to revive the party's progressive ideals and he got the PZPvD an absolute majority in 3880, which abruptly ended with the arrival of the LZP. Unterlings struggled with keeping his voters with him, as he was being critisised for his long-time friendship with the SNP and support for the Dorvikian nobility, of which he became a party when the privy council awarded him the title " Baron " for his longlasting support for the nobles. Unterlings resigned in 3885 because of his old age, as he was 70 years of age in 3885. Unterlings's term was marked by the first PZPvD-lead cabinets, reforms in the army, liberalisation of the market and privatising some national companies,

The years following Unterlings's leadership were very hard for the party. Several leaders followed each other up in very close succesion but all failed to gain more voters. The foundation of the Fluss-Bach SD Partei marked the end of an era, as the PZPvD was a mere opposition party from that point on. The PZPvD temporarily shut down for over 43 after the assasination of Robert Klein by a leftist radical of the Fluss-Bach Partei. The position of leader of the party stayed vacant for 42 years after Frank Klein, Robert's brother , took control of the party in 3956. The SNP was the only active party at that time, since the other parties were all disbanded during the turmelous ages of the Fluss-Bach SD Partei's succeses, which ended with the resignation of Bach in 3939.

Klein transferred power to Ralf Ludolf in early 3957. Ludolf is now the Chancellor of Dorvik after he won by a landslide during the party's first elections since 3914, gaining 81 of the 100 Staatrat seats. Ludolf decided to rename the party to SL '47 to give his party a " fresh new look ", as he said in an interview with die Dorvische Zeit.

The party fell from grace in the early years of the 40th century and was dissolved after the party's members decided to abandon the party.

The political instability in the early months of 4201 prompted successful industrialist and great-grandson of Patrick Urquhart to revive his long dead family member's party. He has given the party a more right-wing Liberal touch whilst pushing for the liberal agenda his predecessors also pushed for.
