Message | We hope the parties see how ridiculous this is. Not only will this limit democratic freedom and make it harder for smaller parties -- turning us into a one-party state -- the likely first government would be a far-right fascist regime -- and all negotiations with Luthoria would also cease. Don't be stupid. Alexander Feigenbaum Bundeskanzler LP Leader |

Message | Yes, Feigenbaum said it. Do not be stupid. Vote for a united Conservative Coalition! Uther von Gotha TE Abgeordneter |

Message | No, I did not say that. Needless to say you are avoiding the argument, because you are only supporting this measure for your own benefit. I humbly request that the Speaker of the House instructs Gotha to be more careful with the implied speaker, to avoid one being misquoted in future. Alexander Feigenbaum Bundeskanzler LP Leader |

Message | I am not suggesting, Herr Wecker, that my statements are interpreted in one way and one way alone -- in fact, I was not discussing this in any way. I was discussing the action of misquoting someone to suggest a totally false point which one had not ever explicitly or implicitly suggested. I would suggest only that members of the Bundestag avoid intentionally or otherwise misquoting me and applying false statements to my name within these chambers -- or that of anyone else for that matter. I would hope we can be more clear in future -- I feel Gotha's original statement was rather unclear and aimed to show that I had suggested my own support for a conservative coalition, which is clearly a falsehood and the words had been taken out of context. Still, I understand your reasoning in this situation and I see that perhaps this was less of a direct misquotation and simply a more vague statement than I would feel is reasonable and fair, implying that I had said something which I certainly did not and skewing the meaning of my words. Still I respect your decision. If I may, I would also suggest that you have implied yourself that I am attempting to control the interpretations of my own statements and phrased that in a directly biased way -- specifically with regards to "the way you want", it clearly implies some kind of sinister aspect to my actions -- perhaps unintentionally, of course. I would hope that the Speaker remain neutral at all times, as they are charged with doing so, and I am not accusing you of purposefully trying to show bias or anything of that sort -- merely providing my own interpretation of your words and making a humble suggestion. I apologise if I have caused any offence. I would also like to humbly request that we stay to the matter at hand. If Gotha wishes to debate the government, then do so in the correct situation -- not midway through a totally separate debate. At least make the point relevant in some way. I believe that would be under your jurisdiction, Armin? Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Alexander Feigenbaum Bundeskanzler LP Leader |

Message | Alexander, I agree with you. Thank you for your words. Of course I try to be neutral at all times, that is why I have to ask Uther to please stay at the topic at hand. Armin Wecker Vorsitzender des Hauses |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
