Bill: Business Ownership Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Dranland Progressive Conservatives
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2188
Description[?]:
According to a poll conducted in April 2187, an underwhelming 3.99% was in support of our current legislation that all businesses must be run by Democratic Workers' Councils. Clearly, our current laws do not reflect the wishes of the people. Therefore, we propose that we adopt a policy of encouragement; one that encourages the formation of DWCs rather than enforces them. This seems to be more in line with the wishes of the citizens of Dranland, with the majority, 37.47% supporting this proposal. It is time for the government of Dranland to be accountable to its citizens and return power to its people. Message | Democracy alone is not necessarily what is best. People will run themselves into the ground by exploiting others to no end. We could never endorse a bill that took away equality. Do not forget that Adolf Hitler was one of the most popular leaders in history, at least with his own country. Perhaps a compromise is in order, with most businesses required to be owned by Democratic Workers' Councils? |
