| Minimum wage jobs are entry level jobs meaning to be worked by teenagers to help build vital skills necessary to the work force and the are largely used as a platform to further their future careers. Having an obscenely high minimum wage merely incentivizes staying in the bottom levels of society and leave little need for ambition, Additionally it harms our workforce immensely, After all if you have a high minimum wage the employer must therefore pay said wage, the higher the wage the fewer workers that are able to be afforded for and kept on the payroll. A lowered minimum wage is necessary to the fabric of our economic growth. |

Current: There is no provision for a minimum wage.
Proposed: There shall be a minimum wage at a level considered a "living wage," well above the poverty line for a full time worker.

| Message | The minimum wage should increase the lives of the poorest of the workforce. If you want to create more entry level jobs, you should lower the retirement age. A high minimum wage will reflect a high standard of living. This party believes that the burden on a business owner who has to pay a high minimum wage in a should be relieved by the nationalization, or centralization of business. We do however understand that particular view might be unappealing to the majority of our legislature, but we strongly urge you to keep the curt minimum wage. What will happen to those families that cannot be supported. They will be forgotten, surely. We hope you will consider this in when you make your decision on this bill. Ronald G. | Message | OOC: I'm not entirely sure, but I personally thought "family of four" was higher, However it's very possible I'm wrong. It seems it's going to pass anyway though. I just thought it would be more important for families to be the priority, instead of an individual being well above the poverty line. |
