Message | We support this bill. Our support for this bill does not depend on the specific policies in the treaty. It is a matter of principle. We have a parliamentary system based on parliamentary sovereignty. Treaties like this one limit the ability of future parliaments to consider and enact changes in the law, and are inconsistent with both democracy and freedom. No parliament should use an international treaty to bind its successors. - Svenja Klaußner, foreign affairs spokesperson for the Konservative Partei. |
