| Message | Former leader Chanelle Keys has mounted a leadership challenge to Sara Longworth earlier today. She cited that Sara Longworth has brought 'the utmost success to the party' and she will 'not be forgotten' but she is a 'one hit wonder' and will bring 'no further success' to the party. Chanelle Keys predicts the Liberals will never have enough support to form a pure parliamentary majority. The motion was tabled to the senate party today and the results are as follows: "Should Mrs Longworth immediately resign as leader if three quarters of Senators agree with this motion as per paragraph 17.2 of the Beluzia Liberals constitution?" Aye: 23 (7.6%) No: 278 (92.4%) Turnout: 301 senators (100%) The leadership challenge motion has failed and Sara Longworth will remain leader for the foreseeable future. This comes at the time an internal poll of Beluzia Liberal voters: 'Do you approve or disapprove of Sara Longworth and her job as leader?' Approve: 84% Disapprove: 16% Net total: +68 Sara Longworth is the most popular Beluzia Liberal Leader in the history of the party. |
