| Honourable Senators, Members of the House of Commons, And people of Aldurie, Moi, Sa Majesté, par la Grace de Dieu, Reine du Royaume Uni d'Aldurie, Défendeur de la Foi, Diane Quentin, I am pleased to be here to deliver the Speech from the Throne. I welcome every new representative into the House, wishing them well in the coming parliament, I also welcome the return of the representatives of last parliament, I hope only the best for you I will lay before you the plans for the next government, and, with your confidence, we wish to execute them in as clean a manor as possible. My government comes out of a election where, as a result of discontent with legislation from the previous government, the ruling party has split, and, in order to avoid the governmental instability of the early 4240's, this coalition will lead the country forward from a series of governments that have failed it. My government will look to increase civil liberties and rights for ethnic minorities in our nation, and will seek to protect those most vulnerable My government will re-nationalize Hydro Aldurie and reverse the failed economic policies of past governments My government will look to limit the powers of the military and police to use violence in Aldurie and establish civilian oversight over their activities. My government will look out to the international community with open arms, seeking higher levels of cooperation, in form of humanitarian aid and agreements. My government will welcome anyone wishing to seek refuge in our nation, wanting to keep open as many windows as possible for those fleeing conflict and disaster. My government will look to amend the current budget. It will look to increase taxes for the wealthiest of our society in order to pay for programs for all Aldurians. My government will also strive to revive the already diminishing Aldurian economy, which has been ranked among the weakest in the world. It will create various new public sector programs, and introduce legislation to jump-kick our economy My government will look towards legalizing Abortion and furthering women's rights in our nation My government will strive to protect the autonomy of the states and local governments, within reason. My government will look to legalize Marijuana fully and regulate its sale. My government will look to end this nations failed crackdown on drugs. My government will oppose military intervention in other nations and will approach war as an absolute last resort. My government will open a committee, with the help of lawmakers, to review our constitution and amend it where necessary. My government will look to reverse the failed policies of austerity and privatization that have failed the working people of this nation. My government will implement the previously rejected education reform package from the PLBS in its entirety. Honourable Members of the Senate and Members of the House of Commons, may Divine Providence guide you in your deliberations and make you faithful custodians of the trust bestowed upon you. |
