Message | The pending elimination of tax on essential goods will significantly erode the tax base of the government. We would suggest new income tax brackets as above and an amendment in budget spending. Considering the above and subsequently decreasing Trade and Industry spending from $65Bn to $45Bn we could increase Defence spending from $75Bn up to $85Bn while retaining a budget surplus. |

Message | We would also strongly urge a decrease in Finance department spending. The reasoning justifying the recent increase was shaky at best. |

Message | You've got our support, although the poor will be taxed more. |
Date | 08:57:35, August 30, 2017 CET | From | Demokratische Partei Dundorfs | To | Debating the Alternative Tax Proposal |
Message | With the removal of the 5% tax on essential goods, and the provision of public health and education, the poor will, hopefully, be paying less tax and have a lower cost of living. |

Message | Assuming, of course, your earlier arguments that public services reduce user costs. |
Date | 13:09:08, August 30, 2017 CET | From | Freie Demokratische Partei | To | Debating the Alternative Tax Proposal |
Message | But only over a long period of time, initially the costs are greater. |
Date | 14:29:34, August 30, 2017 CET | From | Konservative Partei | To | Debating the Alternative Tax Proposal |
Message | We are happy to support this. It does not address the unsustainable spending policies of the leftist parties but is clearly an improvement on their outrageous, ill-conceived tax laws. - Alexandra Lubbers, finance spokesperson for the Konservative Partei. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
