MessageMr. Speaker,

the whole idea of gated communities is not new. At this stage, gated communities exist from both private initiative as from the Government. We would like the Government to run these gated communities from now on.
The reason we proposed this is solely to help protect every individual in or near such community. The Government has little control over what happens in a private gated community.
These gated communities should make sure that people with different views have a safe place. We wouldn't want any segregation take place in such a community.
We know how others feel about us, but it is our duty to protect every citizen and every national. Although we might not agree on certain issues, we still believe we should protect these individuals.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Although we are still reluctant on this, we understand the point the Internal Affairs Minister is making. We will support this bill on the grounds that it will better protect the people.

Chairman of the GCPoL
