Message | This will stifle creativity and put the cost of software up as many organisations will charge others to use their code in grander programs... if anything this will make computing inaccessible for some and as such will stifle the field. The Bastards will oppose this. |
Date | 04:32:28, February 23, 2006 CET | From | Pontesi Fascist Coalition | To | Debating the Software Patent Act |
Message | This bill will not infringe, but rather spur on new and more advanced computing methods, since many companies may realize that it is less expensive to develop their own, more advanced programs instead of merely copying existing ones. If such intellectual property cannot be patented and recognized as individual achievement, it will restrain innovation. Furthermore, Pontesi already allow patents for drugs, manufacturing methods, and other legitimate achievements, why not software? |

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset. |
