Bill: Proper Adjustments

Details

Submitted by[?]: Opinion Poll Vultures

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2062

Description[?]:

Noting that there will soon be 10 parties in Luthori, and that the current distribution is roughly 74 seats per party. We propose that the congress be expanded to 699 seats, to accomodate for the two new parties. If such accomodation is not done, it will bring the average down to 59 seats per party.

MessageA comment:

when mentally judging to tell whether a bill will pass or not, rounded off numbers are much easier to remember.

in a 599 seat legislature, 300 wins. that's easy enough.

in a 699 seat legislature, 250 wins. not too much to remember

in a 749 seat legislature, 375 wins. that's pretty annoying to calculate, especially when adding up party votes to see how easy it will be to get bills on my 'To Do' list passed.

why not just 699?

it will make room for new parties, but make for easy calculating, too.

there is not enough time for this to pass before the election...

it'll have to wait until the next term.

We may have one of those "HOLY OMFG, HOW'D [Insert part name here] GAIN 200 SEATS!?!?!?" again(as was my case), and APL will have an all-powerful mega controll over the government.

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining.
