Bill: National Sovereignty Affirmation Addendum

Details

Submitted by[?]: Whig Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 4286

Description[?]:

This bill proposes leaving those treaties that prevent the Peoples Assembly from deciding on national policy for ourselves. This bill would remove the ancient sanctions that this nation has held against Saridan, the Peoples Assembly should consider the more recent sanctions enacted on Saridan that do not impede our ability to legislate. We hope the governing coalition will stand with us in this repeal effort.

OOC: this is the treaty I meant to start a vote on but at this point my party is going to throw our weight behind this Saridan policy

MessageMr. Speaker, The leftist within this nation have longed used foreign policy towards Saridan as a means of attempting to demonize and prevent segregation within Rutania. We have been hawks on the issue of Saridan, we even introduced newer stiffer sanctions and I am willing to go further to condemn the institution of slavery within Saridan. This however is no reason to oppose segregation within Rutania. Rutania is over 60% white rutanians, now I am not calling for the mandatory segregation of institutions within the nation. I am simply saying the people have a right to decide for themselves if thats what they want, if private institutions want to segregate then that is their right and it might be the best policy, integration and miscegenation will only lead to destruction.
