Description[?]:
OOC: See http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=7654&p=123734#p123734 IC: Mr. Chairman, On behalf of my party and also many, many others beyond my party, I am deeply disappointed by the behaviour of the Dorvish Ambassador to the World Congress in the midst of our General Election campaign, when she suggested the Communist Party is opposed to "democracy and liberty", and asked Security Council members to issue statements warning the Dorvish people against voting Communist. This was not the correct way for a senior diplomat to behave, especially during the politically sensitive period of a Dorvish election campaign. As an Ambassador, she is a civil servant and is meant to steer clear of Dorvik's partisan politics. She should not be encouraging governments of other countries to intervene inappropriately in Dorvik's elections. In our view, Ada von Hertz should now be removed from her position as Ambassador to the Security Council, and replaced by a more professional person with a better understanding of the role. Anton Weinreich General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party |

Message | Mr.Speaker, This Sort of Fear Tactics perfectly worked out for the Right Unfortunately as was clearly visible in the dramatic fall in support for the Communists and the SDU and the Fact that our Vote Count Actually FELL in the Second Round of the Presidential Elections. Regardless,I will Continue as Leader of the SDU and Express my Deep Anger with Ms.Ada Hertz for having been Simply a PKP Representative and Not the Dorvish People. The SDU will definitely vote in favour of removing Ms.Hertz and Replacing her with someone more Non Partisan. Erica Peters, Continuing as Leader of the SDU |

Message | If I may speak for myself, I was appointed by former President Sally Gretchen and have never been a representative for the PKP. I asked out international allies to help come to the defence of peace and stability in Dorvik. That is my job, to stand up for Dorvik. At the end of the day, a communist government was not in our interests internationally. That is simply an objective truth. I am a senior diplomat who is highly professional. It is in fact you two who are politicising this, and the protection of Dorvik. A communist government simply makes Dorvik weaker on the international stage. It is my job to have Dorvik be strong. Ada von Hertz Dorvish Ambassador to the Security Council |

Message | I think we ought to give our ambassador the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure she meant well, and we can all move on from this situation. Now really is not the time to start putting in place new representatives, Dorvik is already being torn to shreds we do not need another problem on the agenda. I'm sure Ada von Hertz has learned something from this and will be completely non-partisan in future. We are all human and let's show some compassion and remember the good things which our ambassador has done for us. Ken Sommer Co-leader of Die Linke |

Message | I cannot support Ada von Hertz’s comments. I am no fan of Communism, but asking our friends in the World Congress to “intervene” is likely only going to hinder our reputation, not help it. Still, I can see why her comments may have been made with good intentions. I would ask von Hertz to remain non-partisan in future. I would like to let the Council decide whether or not to remove her from this position, as I believe the Ambassador should reflect the Council and the Dorvish people. Message | I understand Ken Sommer's generosity of spirit and reluctance to censure a public servant. However, I need to emphasise here that Ada von Hertz has shown no remorse for her behaviour, and has given no commitment not to repeat it in the future. To the contrary, she has a dug a deeper hole for herself both by her comments in this discussion and also at the General Assembly (OOC: see http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=7498#p123770 ). This really does leave us little other reasonable choice than to vote to remove Ada von Hertz from her position. Anton Weinreich General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
