| President of the Republic Naazim el-Arafat: "While the C.C. will not be taking part in this government - which is unlikely to undue the anti-business policies of the previous government - I do wish to issue a warning: one which Mr. Cesaro stated eloquently during the debate over the previous President's decrees. Despite the potential health hazards, the encroachment on civil rights and civil liberties will pose a long-term threat to Istalia's well-being. The C.C. will stand as the voice of the opposition, as the voice of those who embrace capitalism and freedom. I wish the incoming government would recognize these essential rights as it governs." |
