| Alessandro Eugenio di Nacosia-Rohan, President of the Council: "Greetings, I would like open a disvussion to find a way to funds the national efforts against the Dovanian Plague and the support the offorts for the Emergency Plans. An increase in the budget for the Health Ministry is necessary you will agreed with me and the fast way to funding it is this proposal for a Special Emergency Taxes. Furthermore, it seems that some experimental cures are having success in defeat the Bacteria, so, a national maxi program of vaccination should be enforced soon and this will mean the purchaise, maybe productions and distribution of doses for the istalian citizenship. And not only the infected... I'm open to the debate and any suggestion or other solutions will be well accepted. I hope we will be able to find a compromises. Thank you" |

We also agree to the budget increase, as a temporary measure to combat the plague. However as tax increases generally are long-term measures, the increase in luxury sales tax seems unnecessary in the situation we are in. We would propose to simply go temporarily into debt to fund the budget, and then you may proceed with luxury tax increases all you want after the threat has passed and the PNI/PNP are no longer in the coalition. |
