MessageMr. Speaker

This question is directed to the Minister of Finance.

The justification for the passage of Bill 1, the CorpTax Act was that the money raised would be used for the funding of public services and programs. Since the passage of the Bill, and its influx of nearly 20 Billion HLR to the Federal Coffers the Minister has present no new budget to Parliament for the justification of funds raised nor the introduction of new social programs. If the Minister of Finance has no intention of releasing a new budget for the use of new funds can the Minister explain why the Progressive Conservatives voted in favour of this new Tax and further whether or not they will agree to reversing these damaging and unfair tax changes policies that affects not only Hutorian big businesses, but so many small businesses that did not receive an exemption?

MessageMr. Speaker,

This party has introduced a bill to this house to reduce the rate of income tax. This is in line with our proposed raising of corporation tax to 25% for large businesses and exemptions for businesses earning under a set amount per year, which we intend to introduce later this month.

Once the new taxation policy has been passed, we will introduce a new budget to increase public spending.

Elizabeth Jones
Minister of Finance
