Description[?]:

This law seeks to formalize the procedure for gaining nationality in Aloria.

Article 1

If immigrants to Aloria must pass a test to gain nationality, this test must be comprised of;

A language component;

A civics component;

A cultural component;

A history component.

Article 2

The language component may be in either Dundorfian or Draddeg languages, as chosen by the test taker.

A high proficiency of either Dundorfian or Draddeg is required for immigrants to pass the language component.

The language component must ascertain both written and oral proficiency requirements and the proficiency requirement must be achieved in both written and oral exams.

The high proficiency in Dundorfian or Draddeg may be waived if the immigrant individual can demonstrate moderate proficiency in both Dundorfian and Draddeg by taking the language component in both languages.

The language component may be waived altogether for immigrants who are members of the Yaeti or Alirlan peoples.

Non-language components of the test must be offered in Dundorfian or Draddeg languages at the level of moderate proficiency. Yaeti or Alirlan peoples may request to take the non-language components in the Yaeti language, Alirlan language, or Luthorian language.

Article 3

The civics component must include questions on who the Head of State and Head of Government are at the time of the test.

The civics component must include questions on the workings of the Alorian national government.

Article 4

The cultural component must include questions on the customs of the various Alorian people groups.

These people groups must include the Dundorfian, Draddeg, Yaeti, and Alirlan peoples, and they may not include peoples who are less than 1% of the Alorian population.

The cultural components should include questions on the cuisine, dress, and religious habits of these peoples.

Article 5

The history component must include questions specifically on Alorian history at the level a secondary education student would be reasonably expected to find in their studies.

The history component should determine that the test-taker is familiarized with major wars, cultural, social, and political events in Alorian history.

Article 6

A person shall only be eligible to take the test to gain nationality if they have had permanent, legal residence in Aloria for at least 7 years.

The government must disseminate written practice materials for all components of the nationality test that effectively prepare the test taker for the test.

The practice materials must be in all languages which a prospective Alorian national may take the test in.

The Ministry of Education and Culture shall be required to provide classes for the learning of both Draddeg and Dundorfian languages which are free of charge to all permanent residents of Aloria. However, those who take the classes may be required to buy their own books and other individual learning materials.

The Ministry of Education may contract with private organizations, public and private schools, or universities to fulfill their requirement for the provision of language education.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
