Description[?]:
Esteemed members of the Ecclessia, We hope to sway the opposition to support the constitutional reforms covered in this bill. In the spirit of bipartisanship, we have dropped our intention to change the seating arrangements in the Ecclesia. The Conservative Monarchist Party provided a compelling argument to keep the seats as is. We were also planning for our parliamentary and government members of the Ecclesia to be paid a larger than average salary, however, we have adjusted that down to an average salary to see if we can work out a compromise. Our main intentions in this bill is for one to give effect to democracy (Article 2). We admire our Head of State and are thankful that they remain apolitical but mayors serve a very important role in our Kingdom. We do not believe our Head of State is best equipped to decide those mayors but rather the people. Even the most apolitical person can neglect things that a population at large can see. Another intention is to provide a salary to the members of the Ecclesia and the government. We appreciate the argument that it can create inefficiencies in bureaucracy but to solely rely on that argument, would be to diminish the importance of our members being able to finance their needs. At the end of the day, these members are doing jobs, have families to feed and should be rewarded for their honorable service to this Kingdom. Counsel Pericles Vienna |

Message | OOC. When I introduced a no salary to members of Ecclesia, I was thinking to the system of Ancient Greece which our country is based on. Members of the Parliament were selected randomly and it was a kind of duty for every citizen like being part from the justice system in USA |

Message | OOC: Perhaps we create an OCC bill specifying that local council members are not to be paid. I just think choosing members randomly for a nation of 20m people is rather impractical and serves better in a smaller context i.e. local councils. Ancient Greece similarly did not have a large population. |
