Message | We only agree to article 2. |

Message | Concerning article one, is it the Society's view that the government should be in the business of competing with international courier corporations such as FedEx and UPS? How is being in the parcel and document courier business a function of governing a nation? If it were not a commercially lucrative industry, we could maybe see the necessity for providing the service. But the service is far better provided by private enterprise. |

Message | 2 and 3 I agree with. The post office, we believe, is a vital service along the lines of the military and police agencies. They are the only things so utterly vital that they actually need the oversight of government. |

Message | The thing is that the post isn't exactly the parcel business. There's no problems in letting private companies take care of packages in competition to the federal postal service, but letters and correspondence (the post) is one of the few things that should be handled exclusively by the government. |
