MessageThe BLP believes it's not up to the government to regulate health and safety legislation. The level of health and safety conditions has to be negotiated by the employees, represented by their trade unions, and employers.

MessageUntil recently workers conditions have been absolutely terrible, many becoming ill and dying due to the neglect of their employers who cared little for them. It is only because of pressure from the people and the governments and the laws they have passed that conditions have improved. Employers will do anything to make the most profit possible, if that means having good working standards that is what they will do, if it doesn't then they won't, considering the exceptionally high cost to make all working conditions as safe as possible it is unlikely businesses will voluntarily do this. The evidence is everywhere; sweatshops are all over the world because they are a profitable, there is absolutely no concern for workers rights. To say people need to study business at school is not an argument, for a start there is no consensus in the minds of business teachers, secondly, I studied business and have a very different opinion to you.

Well our employees have many rights to strike. So, employers and employees (represented by their unions) have a common interest to negotiate a deal on many issues.

Random fact: Voters have an extra appreciation for bills that actually get passed, so if you want to maximally take profit from your votes, make sure you compromise with others.
