| Marco Gomez, Minister of Finance, We urge parliament in favour of taking responsibility for the actions of the Istalian Central Bank. Is it really so drastic? To take responsibility for our election promises? Supervising the central bank's activity is of utmost importance as its success crucially affects our success. I know politicians should stay out of economics, but to calm down our liberal colleagues, we ensure that we will appoint qualified people and not intervene in any other way as economists, just like engineers, should be left in peace to do their job. It is just unfair to our voters that the politicians which they elect have absolutely no effect on the money supply. After all, politics is a concentrated expression of economics. Thank you |
