Bill: Education Reform of 4316
Details
Submitted by[?]: Constitutionalist Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 4316
Description[?]:
As long as the government had been subsidizing tuition, universities have been swarmed with students spending several years in university only to obtain worthless degrees. This not only leads to degree inflation, but have put unnecessary time constraints for students taking courses with lack of real-world applications. This has also took potential employees away from worthwile jobs such as cooking and plumbing. We propose to limit government funding for tuition to minimize degree inflation and encouraging funding for trade schools. Article 1: The government would not longer fully subsidize tuition and will instead limit funding to students with scholarships or top grades. Article 2: |

Message | Clearly you want to destroy the minds of bright young people stopping those who cannot afford university and telling them they are destined for a life of plumbing or cooking is terrible and not something done in the modern day clearly you want us to return to a day where people weren't educated and poverty was much higher |

Message | When you are hypocritically supporting sending people to earn useless degrees, they would be forced to take even worse jobs, such as in burger chains and garbage man. Even electricians and plumbers have higher income than the an average Ph.D in Baltusian literature, and I consider myself a lover of literature. There are already studies which indicate that spending four years in college does not make students much more intelligent, evev in their useless fields. While the engineering graduates may have decent jobs, wannabee historians would not have the right skills for the real world. David Cormocks Chairman of the Block Bloc OOC: Note that this is based on an argument I found on an article from The Atlantic. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/01/whats-college-good-for/546590/ |
