This act seeks to create proper procedure and regulations for official language usage in Aloria. The official languages of Aloria shall be Draddeg and Dundorfian. The languages accorded official minority status in Aloria shall be Yaeti and Alirlan. Official languages of Aloria shall be languages of government, and all official documents shall be published in the official languages. All debate and discussion in the various legislatures shall be conducted in the official languages. All laws shall be published in the official minority languages. The authoritative version of the law shall be the version in Draddeg, other versions are considered translations. All Alorians have the right to request official government documents be translated into the official minority languages. All Alorians shall have the right to conduct necessary business with the government in official minority languages, including the ability to fill out official forms and converse with government officials (with the exception of police officers, who may not be required to know minority languages). All emergency messages from the government shall be in the official languages and the official minority languages. The government shall recommend that all schools teach both official languages in equal capacity. The government shall also recommend that each school teach at least one official minority language, with the teaching of Yaeti specifically recommended in Caeromel and Alirlan specifically recommended in Sildar. The government also recommends the teaching of Luthori in schools. The recommendations concerning language education shall be considered nonbinding unless the national government is in control of education as defined by other legislation, at which point they become mandates. |
