Voting deadline: July 4324
Description[?]:
The effects of this bill are multi-faceted and of considerable benefits to our nation and our constituents. Decriminalizing the possession, sale, and use of all recreational drugs Serves to increase the freedoms and civil liberties of the population of Solentia. In the matter of Justice, this frees our law enforcement and judicial systems to pursue more meaningful prosecutions, focus on crimes which have victims, and altogether spend their resources more efficiently. Similarly, unnecessary incarceration is reduced and capacities of our prisons for harmful and serious crimes increase. Crime rates in turn will be reduced significantly and criminal enterprises revolving around illegal drugs will practically be nullified. In the matter of health, decriminalizing the possession, sale, and use of all recreational drugs will destigmatize drug use, remove its taboo appeal, see that addiction is treated as the medical issue it deserves to be treated as, and hold the substances themselves to the same standards of manufacturing, labeling, distribution, and taxation as other similar consumer products. In the matter of Solentia's bottom line, creating new products of industry serves to create more jobs along the entire chain of business, including research and development, allows opportunities for entrepreneurship, and allows our businesses to make profits to be distributed to their shareholders and potentially to our coffers in the form of any applicable taxes. There is also the potential for increased tourism. The GDP of Solentia would be expected to increase. The data is clear: A society free to use drugs uses less of them and is healthier in mind, body, conscience, and wallets for their efforts. Do not make the mistake of spending our valuable resources enforcing arbitrary laws of negative benefits. |

Message | I believe there needs to be some regulation to ensure recreational drugs are safe for consumption like we do with food and other products. |
Date | 04:04:39, December 27, 2017 CET | From | Solentian Secular Realist Party | To | Debating the Recreational Drug Freedom & Decriminalization Act |
Message | I agree with you. It is our intention to provide safer products than can be illegally obtained. When early elections hit and this gets pushed back to debate, I have no problem with choosing a regulated option concerning the sales of recreational drugs. |
