Message | This bill may sound nice but in reality this bill would destroy the health industry. The primary concern that my party has with this bill is article 1 section 1.3 where in Medications collected will be charged to the patient 20% of the original cost of the medication. This would destroy the private medical industry due to the far cheaper prices and will lead to them not being able to compete with the governments medication. Due to this happening there will be no private medication so this bill would become useless in the end and just hurt the people of our nation. Konrad Kestenbaum Leader of Ordnung und Gerechtigkeit |

Message | Mr Kestenbaum, You may be concerned it would destroy the private medical industry, but I cannot see your logic, it would drive competition between within the private sector to give the best possible prices. I fail to see the logic of how it would hurt the people of our nation. Tatiana Duerr, Under-Secretary for Health |

Message | Tatiana, It seems you don't understand how the bill your party is proposing works, let me explain it to you. If this is passed the government will take all medication collected and sell it for 20% of the original cost. This means that no matter how the private companies change their prices the medication is still charged at 20% of the original cost. Let me make this clear if I charge 100 DDO for my medication and the government collects some it is charged at 80 DDO. No matter how I change the price the government still charges 20% of what I do. Do you understand how this makes it impossible to compete? There is no best possible price the government will always charge less.
