Bill: RP - Call for an referendum on the monarchy
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kommunistiske Parti
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4328
Description[?]:
The Communist Party calls on the Stortinget to hold a referendum into the monarchy. Me and my comrades believe it is undemocratic that our head of state is chosen by birth rights, rather then the people. We seek to establish the role of President alongside Statsminister. May Flaten Communist Party Leader OOC: We will run the referendum by everyone telling me of the percentage of the voters that voted for their party at the last election support each side. Please make it realistic! I will open a new bill later for that to happen if we approve the referendum. If you don’t tell me, I will just make it up judging it by your ideological positions. I would also like to ask, that if the people vote yes, that we respect their choice and pass the constitutional amendment. |

Message | Herr Huspresident, It was only a matter of time before the communist party moved to destroy the very fabric of our nation. The leader of the communist party states that a constitutional monarchy (as our nation) is "undemocratic". I believe that his opinion on the issue is flawed as he refuses to recognise the fact that for the founding of his party, he has enjoyed the impartial decision of a contained monarchy. For centuries the monarchy has served as the impartial arbiter between political events and situations as has ensured stability for a period longer than the communist ideology had been conceptualised. Let us examine the communist perception of "democracy" and freedoms that come with it. A head of state chosen by the people in accordance with the views of communism is non-existent. For the "democratically elected" General Secretary of the Communist Party, who becomes head of state is not chosen by the people, but by the party's political elite in the form of the Politburo. Although we are socialist, we believe that the monarchy has ensured our nations lasting stability for centuries and that is a paramount principle. What the communist party aims at doing is instituting undemocratic institutions. They confirm to us their hypocrisy. Holmbert Saivarsson Parliamentary Floor Leader Nasjonal Arbeiderkongress |

Message | Herr Hudpresident, It seems to me and my comrades that Herr Saivarsson supports propping up the elites, placing them in a level of privilige far above the avergae Kazulia. I know that by denouncing capitalism and the monetary system that most capitalist pigs and the media will defend the class system by saying that people have ‘worked for their money’ and ‘the poor are lazy’ but how can anybody make that ludicrous claim in this case? We have no urge to insult Kazulia’s institutions - we understand they are many centuries old and we do respect the work of our ancestors, The Workers’ Party have misunderstood our intentions. We can’t though hang on to old fashioned system for ever though. Herr Saivarsson also seem to wrongly believe that if our candidate was elected President / General Secretary, that they would be a member of Politburo. If baffles me that a member of this chamber who would believe such a thing? Their is no need for the candidate to be political elite - our primary election campaigns would by the Party so that all who hold our membership and share our values will have an equal chance at gaining the nomination. However, what if Herr Saivarson is critical of how the system would work? Well I can share the honourarble member of the Stortinget that it would be a popular vote system using the democratic Alternative Vote. May Flaten Communist Party Leader |

Message | I belive this is a stupid idea since the monarchy has been here for ages so Why end it now? The monarchy has meant a lot to our great people and i think it would be stupid to end it now. If we dont Let the monarchy live on we wont Let our country tradition live on. I think we should strenghten the monarchy not weaken it Let the monarchy be the face of our great country. Long live the king! |
