MessageWhy should the government act? It’s the choice of the people. We shouldn’t be going right up to their noses.

MessageDear DNPA,

While we can agree that tobacco abuse is bad, we cannot support this measure as it would rive the market underground and begin enriching criminal enterprises. We support allowing it to be legal, but instead using non-legal social pressure to reduce tobacco abuse. We also aren't against the moderate use of tobacco and soe of our party officials use it on occasion with Sekowan Kiseru pipes.

signed,

Wu Jang-Kim
NCP Senator

MessageDear DNPA,
Our party believes in restricting it however we believe this may be a step too far

Although it is bad for our health, it could encourage more crimes

For now we will be abstaining until we have looked into it further as a party

Simon Hay
Minister of Health and Social Services
