| The President of the Republic is the head of state of the United Republic of Kalistan. As such, he or she shall serve as a ceremonial figurehead symbolic of the unity of the nation. The President of the Republic shall have the right to address the nation and the Chamber of Deputies. The President of the Republic shall have the right to set advisory guidelines for foreign policy, which the Cabinet and Government have no obligation to follow. The President of the Republic shall have the ability to represent the nation abroad at the direction and discretion of the Premier of the Republic. Executive power is exercised by the Premier of the Republic and the Cabinet. The Premier of the Republic and the Cabinet exercise their duties at the confidence of the Chamber of Deputies. The Premier of the Republic is the Commander-in-Chief of the United Republic of Kalistan Armed Forces. Such powers can be delegated to the Minister of Defense at the Premier’s discretion. The President of the Republic can be impeached by a vote of the Chamber of Deputies for violating the constitution or committing crimes. Following impeachment, the sitting President of the Republic shall be barred from running for the office again and a new election for all national offices shall be triggered. The President of the Republic can be suspended, either temporarily or indefinitely, for suspected crimes, violating the constitution, or refusing to acknowledge the terms of impeachment by a simple majority vote of the Chamber of Deputies. The President of the Republic shall be suspended from office and an interim President shall be appointed by the Premier of the Republic with the approval of the Chamber of Deputies. |
