| Message | Francesco di Nacosia-Rohan, Leader of LP: "Mr Speaker, Liberty and Progress can fully support the article 2, 3 and 5 of this treaty, this because: - The world seems run to the desaster of a major global conflict, the State should today take the responsability to assure to our citizens protections from any threat and to be sure to organize properly our defensive infrastructure, the State today should take directly this responsability. - In these current times, with the tensions which are increasing even more, we have to carefully determine who is worthy to purchaise our advanced military technology. We cannot anymore allow that also our enemy could have access to our arms. - The restriction of the landmines can only be an advanced sign of civilization. And looking to what is doing Solentia, which is introducing thousands of land mines in their territories putting in extreme danger the life of their citizens and also of foreign citizens, and consciouss of the fact that the operations to remove land mines can take decades, this cannot but be a fair decision. About the article 4, instead, we can support but with reserve. We can support because, always due to the current times, probably for the next future will be necessary a strong productive core of our defence industry to be under the control of the State to better respond to the demands and the needs of the Nation. We hope, however, that when the times will be appropriate, we could reverse this measure. Finally, we have to state that we cannot accept the first article, which can only undermine our deterence power toward the powerful enemies which are arising in these time. Thank you" |
